I’m considering purchasing a Wii system for my daughter for Christmas; what is considered a good deal for a Wii?

I depends. If you want only Wii than the price is 249 USD. But sometimes it’s a good idea to spend more and get extra Wiimotes and games. So it is difficult to say. I paid for mine 500 USD but got a lot of extra things. So it depends what you get for the given price.
