i have no idea i’ve been wondering this too. it has a padlock image on it so i think it must lock/unlock something
It removes the faceplate. To remove it, you must disconnect the neck of the guitar, switch the other thing to the unlock picture, and pull out the faceplate by the little opening where the neck would be. This is a way to install another faceplate.
