You need to register each other’s Friend Codes onto your Wii (see below on instructions for Super Smash Bros Brawl). You both MUST have a wifi-compatible game (look for the special blue “Wifi” symbol on the front of the game case). Some wifi-compatible games have a different way to search then connect with each other; for Nintendo-published games, click here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems… and then click the game that you have for more info (the list of games is further down the page, under the header: “Nintendo Wifi Connection”. If you have a 3rd-party-published game, you’ll have to read the game manual.
Don’t forget to set the time with your friend of when to link up online (set this time AFTER you do everything else above!!).

How to find your Friend Code
    1. From the Main Menu, use the Control Pad and A/a or 2 Button to select “Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection”.
    2. When you are asked if you want to connect, select “Yes.”
    3. The game will attempt to connect to the servers. If the connection is successful, your Friend Code will appear on the confirmation message.
    4. After you have connected to the Nintendo WFC service, select “With Friends,” then “Friend Roster.” Your Friend Code will be displayed at the top of the screen.
How to add a Friend Code
Use these steps to add another player’s Friend Code to your Friend Roster. When both of you have entered each other’s Friend Codes, you can play Brawl, Team Multi-Man Brawl, and Home-Run Contest with friends only.
    1. From the Main Menu, use the Control Pad and A/a or 2 Button to select “Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.”
    2. When you are asked if you want to connect, select “Yes.”
    3. Select the “With Friends” icon, then select “Friend Roster.”
    4. Select “Enter Friend Code,” then use the numbers on the screen to enter the Friend Code.
    5. Your Friend will also need to enter your Friend Code for both of you to be able to play together.

The following link will take you to Wikipedia. It lists practically all of the Wii games that are currently Wifi-compatible!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii…
